U.S. Department of Defense Takes Forceful Lead as Early Adopters of Solar Energy

This is a six-frame movie of the 2005 YU55 asteroid that passed by Earth closer than the distance of the moon on November 8, 2011. The movie data is from radar data that was obtained on November 7, 2011 with NASA’s Goldstone Solar System Radar. The asteroid was appox. 860,000 miles from earth when the footage was taken and was 200,000 miles from Earth at it’s closest approach. The resolution is 4 meters per pixel and is looped 5 times.
